Thanksgiving closings in Columbia

COLUMBIA — Most government offices and services will be closed Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving Day.

City offices will be closed and will reopen Friday. County state offices will be closed Thursday and Friday and will reopen on Monday.

Post offices will be closed Thursday, and mail will not be delivered.

Residential trash and recycling will not be collected on Thanksgiving, and collection normally scheduled for Thursday will be delayed until Friday. Friday’s collection will be delayed until Saturday.

City buses will not run, and parking meter regulations will not be enforced on Thanksgiving Day. The city sanitary landfill will be closed.

Administrative offices for the police and fire departments will be closed on Thanksgiving, but emergency services will be available.
