LEXINGTON — One of six men accused of abusing children in their family years ago has been released from jail in western Missouri.
Lafayette County authorities said David A. Mohler paid a $70,000 cash bond Wednesday and left the Lafayette County jail with a lawyer.
The 52-year-old Mohler of Lamoni, Iowa, is charged along with three of his brothers, his father and an uncle in a case of alleged sexual abuse from the 1980s.
David Mohler was being held on $35,000 each for two counts of forcible rape from the early 1990s. He has not entered a plea and is due back in court Thursday for a hearing.
His lawyer, Thomas Bolling, said he would not comment on his client's release or about the case.
The other men remain jailed.
