Askren signs contract with MMA group

Former Missouri wrestler and 2008 Olympian Ben Askren signed a contract with Bellator Fighting Championships, a professional mixed martial arts organization on Wednesday.
Askren will compete in a welterweight (170-pound) division eight-man tournament on April 8, 2010. The tournament begins Bellator’s second season. The season will last 12 weeks and the fights will be broadcast on FOX Sports Net, NBC, and Telemundo.
