JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri health officials say the H1N1 vaccine now should be available to anyone who wants it.

Until now, limited supplies meant many local health departments restricted access to children, pregnant woman and other high-risk people.

State health director Margaret Donnelly said increasing vaccine supplies now make it prudent to offer the vaccine to all people.

Through the first eight weeks of the flu season, Missouri doctors reported more than 26,000 flu cases. That compares to just 56 during the same period last year. The health department said the H1N1 flu accounts for at least 90 percent of all cases reported this fall.
