The Columbia College men's basketball team lost 81-58 Friday night to the Robert Morris Eagles.
The loss in the first night of the Hoops for Hope Grace College Invitational dropped the Cougars to 4-8 on the season.
The Cougars faced a 40-30 deficit at halftime after shooting 29 percent in the first two quarters.
After pulling within three points of Robert Morris in the second half, the Eagles pulled away with a 37-17 run in the final 12 minutes.
Chad Thompson had 18 points and six boards for the Cougars while Taylor Evans added 15 points.
Billy Rush helped push the Eagles record to 6-6 with 21 points.
The Cougars play their final game in Indiana Saturday, Dec. 12 when they face the winner of Grace College and Cornerstone University at 1 p.m.
