JEFFERSON CITY — The case of a Missouri funeral home closed over mishandled contracts has been continued until Jan. 21.
The Jefferson City News Tribune reported that Senior Judge Byron L. Kinder also said Friday that a temporary restraining order remains in effect until at least Dec. 28, or until further order of the court.
The case involves the Buescher Memorial Home.
Last month, regulators revoked its licenses and ordered it closed. The funeral home is accused of improperly handling numerous contracts for prearranged funerals.
Accusations of mishandled contracts include claims that the funeral home charged for services already covered in the contract, failed to pay refunds for canceled polices and didn't itemize customer purchases.
