Missouri football players Danario Alexander and Sean Weatherspoon were named to The Associated Press All-America second team Tuesday.
Weatherspoon, a senior linebacker, ranks third in the Big 12 for tackles and was a Butkus Award finalist. Alexander, a senior wide receiver, leads the nation with 1,644 receiving yards.
Fellow Big 12 player Jordan Shipley, a senior from Texas, and Golden Tate, a junior from Notre Dame, received first-team wide receiver honors. Cincinnati's Mardy Gilyard joined Alexander on the second team.
At linebacker, Rolando McClain, a junior from Alabama, Greg Jones, a junior from Michigan State, and Eric Norwood, a senior from South Carolina, received first-team honors. Joining Weatherspoon on the second team are Iowa's Pat Angerer and Florida's Brandon Spikes.
