Upon returning from the candlelight tour of the mansion, I feel I should write something to express my feelings of appreciation to Governor Jay and first lady Georganne Nixon.
I was made to feel so welcome at the Governor’s Mansion during the 2009 candlelight tour. The greeters on the street and the special personnel leading to the reception area all welcomed me with warmth and sincerity.
My last visit to the mansion was during the Governor Holden administration, and I was happy to visit the Governor’s Mansion again.
I was so impressed with the taste and comfort of the surroundings, and the Christmas tree was more beautiful than ever. All of the decorations were festive, yet they did not overwhelm, nor comprise the integrity of the pieces they adorned or the rooms where they were located. I was able to take several pictures while I was there, and I felt somewhat inspired to immolate a similar Christmas theme in my home.
With the aroma of Christmas greenery, I said hello to many strangers. I witnessed the smiles of children; I listened to the singing of the choir. As the candles lit my way, the images of the Christmas dove led me to the open air, where a taste of peppermint stimulated my palate, and the joy of Christmas gripped my heart.
Although I could continue with the positive aspects of my experience, I will close in saying what I have said to others; the Governor and Mrs. Nixon know how to share the Christmas spirit in their home.
I send all best wishes for a very Merry Christmas to all.
