COLUMBIA — Police say Hickman High School is safe after someone inside the school called 911 to make a bomb threat Friday afternoon.
Police investigated and gave the all-clear at 1:11 p.m.
There were about 300 students in the school and they remained in the building during the police search, Columbia Public Schools spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark said. The school was not at its normal capacity because it is operating on a finals week schedule.
Police are trying to identify the caller, who they think is a student, Columbia Police Detective Jeff Westbrook said. He said that police have a lead on who made the threat, and they think it was a prank.
The school is currently continuing on the planned finals schedule.
