COLUMBIA — MU will award more than 2,100 degrees this weekend at a series of commencement ceremonies starting Friday, including 1,445 bachelor's degrees, 532 master's degrees, five professional degrees and 162 doctorates.

Speakers include Gov. Jay Nixon, who will speak at the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources ceremony at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Hearnes Center, and Mayor Darwin Hindman, who will speak at the School of Natural Resources ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Jesse Auditorium.
Columbia College will hold its commencement ceremony at noon Saturday at the school's Southwell Complex. Nearly 400 students are expected to graduate. Columbia Public Schools Superintendent Chris Belcher will be the speaker.
Stephens College held its commencement last weekend.
