PrintCOLUMBIA – A loud stereo was just one more problem that police found with one of the two men arrested after tips from CrimeStoppers.
Columbia Police received a call Tuesday afternoon from CrimeStoppers, which said Courtney May-Rainey, 23, was seen at the Grindstone Parkway Walmart.
May-Rainey was arrested after a short foot chase from the parking lot to the inside of Walmart, the release said.
He was arrested on six felony state warrants for traffic charges, a warrant for failing to appear in court and a warrant for a loud stereo, resisting arrest, two counts of trespassing and forgery. Cole and Callaway counties issued two of the warrants for May-Rainey's arrest.
Bail for May-Rainey was set at $135,385, according to a Boone County Sheriff report. But because May-Rainey is a "parole absconder," he is unable to be released on bail.
Emmanual Perry, 23, was wanted by the police in connection to a traffic violation, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and drug trafficking.
Perry also had a warrant for being a "parole absconder," spokeswoman and Officer Jessie Haden said.
Within an hour after receiving information on Perry, Columbia Police were able to locate and arrest him at 4 p.m., according to the release.
The two men are being held at Boone County Jail as of Wednesday afternoon.
