The falling snow did not serve as a deterrent for shoppers wanting to take advantage of the after Christmas sales.
Walk around Target or Wal-Mart the day after Christmas and what was on sale was clearly marked.
Wal-Mart shoppers were greeted with large screen televisions, blu-ray disc players and a DVD display lining the entrance walkway on the non-grocery side.
In Wal-Mart, seasonal items were on shelves directly in front of the entrance. Without anything to fill these shelves, the intensity of the bright green liner could hurt eyes.
A packed isle of shoppers picked up discounted holiday candy at Target. Shopping carts held holiday wrapping paper and ornaments that shoppers will tuck away until Christmas rolls around next year.
In Target, all that told what empty shelves had held were the price tags.
Veronica Hill (cq) recently graduated from college and used the great deals at Target on Saturday to shop for business clothes. “I think everything’s pretty well stocked.” Hill said in response to being asked if she had any problems finding what she wanted.
Melissa Silkwood (cq) exited Target with a shopping cart of bags after shopping for about an hour feeling the shelves had been pretty well stocked.
“A lot of shelves were empty.” According to Amanda Lucas(cq), of Hallsville, Mo. Lucas went to Target with her family to buy the kids games to use with the Nintendo DS games consoles they received for Christmas.
