COLUMBIA – A fire partially burned an unoccupied house owned by Joseph Calvert on Wednesday at 1103 S. Eastwood Circle.
Capt. Eric Hartman of the Columbia Fire Department said there were no injuries.
A 911 call was received from a neighbor at 12:27 p.m., and the first firetruck on the scene discovered flames. It took 20 to 25 minutes to extinguish the fire.
The owner's sister-in-law, Deanne Calvert, said the home had been unoccupied for about a month, and there were no people or possessions in the house at the time of the fire.
As of the time of this reporting, there is no indication that this fire is connected to the house fire that occurred early Wednesday morning on Dickinson Court.
