COLUMBIA — Officials believe a predawn fire that caused an estimated $150,000 damage to a home in northeast Columbia was intentionally set. Investigators said the home at 2107 Dickinson Court may have also been burglarized.
A passerby called in the fire at 4 a.m., according to a news release from the Columbia Fire Department. The owner, Samantha Jo Baker Fitzmorris, was not at home. A dog inside the house was killed.
“Several articles of physical evidence were located and recovered at the scene,” the news release said. “Additional evidence … suggests the home may have been burglarized as well.”
The Missourian has reporters at the scene. Check back for updates.
