COLUMBIA — An Ashland man was arrested early Friday morning after his Toyota Corolla hit a parked Ford Explorer in the 700 block of Demaret Drive, Sgt. Brian Leer of the Boone County Sheriff's Department said. The Explorer had two passengers inside, one of whom sustained minor injuries, according to a release. The victim was later treated at a local hospital and released.
The Corolla left the scene of the crash and was driven west on Demaret. It hit a duplex near the Hogan Drive intersection, causing minor damage, according to the release. The Corolla left the scene of that crash and was stopped on Clark Lane near St. Charles Road by Deputy Mark Winchester, who was nearby, Leer said. The driver was later identified as Mark Alan Waller, 47. He was arrested on suspicion of one count of second-degree assault, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident and one count of driving while intoxicated, according to the release.
Waller posted $10,000 bond and was released, Leer said.
