PrintLEXINGTON — Two men suspected of sexually abusing children in their family years ago appeared in court Monday in western Missouri.
During one of the brief hearings, a Lafayette County judge set a March 24 trial date for 72-year-old Darrel W. Mohler, of Silver Springs, Fla. Mohler, who was hunched over and walked with a limp, is charged with two counts of forcible rape.

Earlier in the day, 48-year-old Jared Leroy Mohler, of Columbia, pleaded not guilty to one count each of rape and sodomy and two counts of using a child in a sexual performance.
Darrel and Jared Mohler and four other relatives are accused of raping and molesting several young relatives over roughly a decade beginning in the mid-1980s.
Relatives who attended the hearings declined to comment to reporters.
