JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri transportation and conservation officials are holding a contest for students to discourage littering.
Students from kindergarten through eighth grade are asked to decorate large trash cans with creative message urging people not to litter. Schools can submit one entry for students from kindergarten to second grade, another for third through fifth grades and one for sixth through eighth grades.
Home-schooled students may also enter the contest.
The winners in each category get $100 and are entered in a contest with the grand prize winner getting $500 and a trophy. The deadline is March 1.
