Martin Luther King Jr. Day closings

COLUMBIA – The city, state, county and banks will be closed Monday Jan. 18 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The regular City Council meeting will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The landfill will be closed and trash collection will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week.

City buses will not be in operation and parking meters will not be enforced on Monday.

The post office will be closed and no mail will be delivered. Mail will still be picked up from blue collection boxes starting at 3 p.m. Anyone needing stamps or to ship packages may use the automated postal center in the lobby of the Columbia Post Office, 511 E. Walnut St.

Columbia Public Schools will not be in session.

City and county administrative offices will be closed for the holiday but all emergency services will still be available.
