COLUMBIA — A 24-year-old Columbia man was arrested Thursday morning in connection with five 2008 burglaries. Police also arrested three others while serving a separate warrant, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.
Police arrested Courtney Brown after the department’s SWAT team served a warrant at 6:30 a.m. Thursday at 211 Anita Court.
Brown had an outstanding felony warrant that was issued for five burglaries that occurred in November and October of 2008 at The Links apartment complex, the release stated.
At about 7:15 a.m. Thursday, the SWAT team served a second search warrant issued to locate stolen property and drugs at 5113 Rice Road.
Police arrested Bilal Hill, 31, Lakenya Ray, 21, and Tyhesia Brimmage, 20.
Hill had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on suspicion of failure to appear in court. He was originally charged with driving while intoxicated.
According to the release, police found a bag of marijuana located next to an infant child, two bags of crack cocaine, a handgun and drug paraphernalia in the home.
Hill was also arrested on suspicion of endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree drug trafficking.
Brimmage, the child’s mother, was arrested on suspicion of endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ray was arrested on two outstanding warrants, including a Boone County warrant for suspicion of fraud, the release stated.
