COLUMBIA – A two-car accident at the intersection of Highway WW and Olivet Road left three people injured Friday morning. Traffic was stopped on both roads for about an hour.
The collision left a considerable amount of blood on the road, one car lodged in the trees next to the intersection and the other in a ditch.

The driver of the Omni was ejected from the car by the force of impact and was taken to University Hospital.
Aprilstarr Daly, 23, of Columbia, was transported to University Hospital with serious injuries after being ejected from her Dodge Omni. Russell Reidinger, 64, and Sallie Reidinger, 91, both of Columbia, were also transported to University Hospital with moderate injuries, according to the police report.
Daly was traveling with her child, Lucein, who was not injured in the accident.
The Reidingers and Lucein were wearing safety devices, but Aprilstarr Daly was not.
Daly was traveling north on Olivet Road when she failed to stop at a stop sign, the report said. Her car struck the Reidinger’s vehicle, a Ford Focus, which was traveling east.
Daly was ejected from her car and was lying on the road with a head injury when medical services arrived. She was alert and conscious at the time, said Gale Blomenkamp, Boone County Fire Department division chief.
The Reidingers' vehicle slid into the trees bordering the road, according to the police report.
Dawn Paine, of Fulton, who had been traveling on WW, removed Lucein from the car and checked him for injuries. Lucein had some small cuts and was not crying, Paine said.
Shortly afterward, Lucein was taken to University Hospital by non-emergency transport to be reunited with his mother, Blomenkamp said.
