COLUMBIA — A Columbia man was arrested Saturday evening on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a revoked driver's license.
Elbert Wayne Allen, 53, was driving in the area of Route B and Oakland Church Road at 5:15 p.m.
"The deputy on duty had noticed driving that exhibited signs of being impaired," said Sgt. Brian Leer of the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
Through roadside sobriety tests, the deputy developed probable cause to believe Allen was driving while impaired by drugs, Leer said, and Allen was arrested.
Bond was set at $14,500.
Allen has 10 convictions for DWI and 12 convictions for driving with a revoked driver's license.
Allen remained in custody at the Boone County Jail as of late Sunday morning.

Sounds to me like this guy is a real loser and will never change. My question is...what kind of judges have we allowed to let this man be on the road driving??? This many arrests and he is still behind the wheel? I think some vertical bars would be more appropriate !!!
and bail set at a measly $14,500? It's clear nothing short of jail time will keep this loser from driving while drunk.
