COLUMBIA — A pedestrian was taken to Boone Hospital Center after she was hit by a car around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the corner of Ninth and Locust streets.
The woman was walking north across Ninth Street. A black BMW 325i was turning left from Locust Street to Ninth Street and hit her, said Randy Nichols of the Columbia Police Department.
The driver of the BMW was issued a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian. Nichols did not know the pedestrian's condition.
