HANNIBAL — Thirteen people have been indicted on federal methamphetamine conspiracy charges.
The charges were announced Tuesday against eight people from Lincoln County and one each from Columbia, St. Louis, Warrenton, Collinsville, Ill., and Iowa City, Iowa. Each count carries up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $250,000.
The Hannibal Courier Post reported Wednesday that the indictments were handed down Jan. 7 but suppressed until arrests were made.
The charges include conspiracy to possess pseudoephedrine knowing that it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine; manufacturing methamphetamine on premises where a child under 18 was present or lived; maintaining drug-involved premises; and possession of pseudoephedrine knowing that it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine.
