COLUMBIA — Boone County residents who have an interest in stormwater management and a knack for using a video camera might want to consider entering a video contest sponsored by the county’s stormwater management staff.
The contest is open to all residents, including students. There are two divisions: one asks people to produce a 30-second public service announcement; the other calls for a short film of one to three minutes.
Some of the submitted videos would be aired on television, in local movie theaters and on Web sites, according to a news release from the county.
The winner in each category will be awarded $500. Second-place winners will receive $250.
An informational meeting on the contest will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in Room 220 of the Roger B. Wilson Boone County Government Center, Eighth and Ash streets.
Entries must be postmarked by Feb. 19. Additional guidelines and rules are available at helpthehinkson.org. For more information, call Nicki Fuemmeler or Bill Florea at 886-4339.
