JEFFERSON CITY — The Missouri Senate has approved a former aid to Gov. Jay Nixon as director of the Department of Revenue.
Senators confirmed the appointment of Alana Barragán-Scott as department director Thursday.
She has led the department since July, when Nixon appointed then-director Karen King Mitchell to the state Court of Appeals.
Before joining the Revenue Department, Barragán-Scott worked for 15 years at the attorney general's office when Nixon was attorney general.
