COLUMBIA — New Haven Elementary School has no running water after a water break Friday , Nick Boren, Columbia Public Schools deputy superintendent for administration, said.
The water break was found at 4 a.m. Water was seen running through a ditch in front of the school. The break should be fixed by the end of the day, he said.
Bottled water is kept on site for all school needs. Students will have drinking water, and will be able to wash their hands and flush the toilets. There is extra staff on-site if necessary to help out with any additional problems.
“It is a normal school day, just a shorter school day. Breakfast and lunch will be served as usual,” Boren said.
