COLUMBIA — Broadway Brewery and Partners In Health, or PIH, will team up Tuesday night to raise money for recovery efforts in Haiti.
A 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck the island Jan. 12. More than 150,000 people have died as a result of the quake.
The fundraiser is open to the public. There is no cover charge, but donations are welcome. Proceeds from a Haitian-inspired dish and drink, as well as the in-house pale ale will go to PIH.
PIH is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people in need find medical care. PIH and its partner organization Zanmi Lasante are already well established in Haiti; they have been working there for nearly 25 years.
While there is no specific start time, some events include:
- Happy hour starting at 4 p.m.
- Raffle at 9 p.m. with donated gift cards from downtown locations, such as Sycamore, Ragtag Cinema and Slackers.
- Music by the Lonesome Pines at 10 p.m., followed by the band Jack Tar.
