COLUMBIA —A man charged with tampering with a judicial officer for leaving threatening phone messages at a 13th Circuit Court judge's home has been extradited from Texas to Boone County.
Allen Hause, 55, formerly of Hartsburg, was booked into Boone County Jail early Monday morning, said Maj. Tom Reddin with the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
According to previous Missourian reports, 13th Circuit Court Judge Kevin Crane received five "troubling" messages between Christmas and New Year's Day. An investigation led authorities to believe Hause was the caller. A warrant for his arrest was obtained on Jan. 5. Hause was taken into custody on Jan. 13 near Houston.
Hause has a history of criminal activity over 30 years that includes property damage, resisting arrest, drug possession and assault with weapons, Reddin previously told the Missourian. Hause had never been on trial in Crane's courtroom in Boone County, however, Crane did issue a warrant for Hause's arrest on a charge of unlawful use of a weapon.
Crane became a judge in 2006. Before that, he was chief prosecutor in Boone County from 1993 to 2006.
Reddin said Hause was also booked on a Randolph County charge for failure to appear on a previous felony charge of driving with a revoked license.
Hause is being held on three separate bonds totaling $525,000, Reddin said.
