COLUMBIA — Shakespeare’s Pizza is launching a new campaign aimed to help pizza lovers give to Haiti.
For the month of February, Shakespeare’s will donate 15 percent of every Tuesday and Wednesday order to Haitian relief when the customer mentions “dining for Haiti”.
A 7.0 magnitude quake struck Haiti Jan. 12, devastating the island and killing 200,000, according to The Associated Press.
“We wanted to give customers a sense that they’re doing something,” said Kurt Mirtsching, Shakespeare’s "director of everything."
At the end of the month, Shakespeare’s Pizza will match the total donation.
Shakespeare’s is asking customers to suggest what organization the money goes to. Ideas can be sent through Shakespeare’s Facebook page or through e-mail on the Shakespeare’s Web site.
Shakespeare's is not accepting coupons or deals in conjunction with orders that mention “Dining for Haiti,” according to its Web site.
