COLUMBIA — A plane veered off the runway at Columbia Regional Airport on Thursday morning after its landing gear collapsed.
The private aircraft was landing around 10:40 a.m. There was damage to the wing and propeller on the left side of the aircraft, Airport Superintendent Don Elliott said. There were two passengers, but neither suffered injuries.
Airport personnel inspected the runway and taxiways for debris but found none, Elliot said.
“There were no safety issues," he said. "It did not affect any of the operations of the airport.”
