COLUMBIA — Snowfall is expected to continue this weekend until early Monday, with 3.1 inches expected in Columbia on Saturday night and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service Web site.
The snow received Friday morning tapered off and no more snow would be seen until evening, when possible flurries in Columbia and northern Missouri were predicted, said Benjamin Sipprell of the National Weather Service.
The service predicts a lull in activity through most of Saturday, though another storm system from the northern area is expected to produce 1 to 2 inches of snow in Columbia beginning on Saturday afternoon and continuing until Sunday.
By Sunday night the snow is predicted to end, with the chance of an additional inch over the course of the day, according to the National Weather Service.
