Group says Missouri has weak gun control laws

JEFFERSON CITY — A national gun control group has given Missouri low marks for its firearms laws.

A report produced by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence awarded Missouri four points out of 100 for its gun and concealed weapons laws. The points were earned because Missouri does not require businesses or colleges to allow people to carry concealed weapons on their premises.

Nationwide, more than a dozen states received fewer than five points in the report, with Utah scoring the lowest. California scored the highest at 79. Among Missouri's neighboring states, Arkansas, Kentucky and Oklahoma scored lower.

Hmm, quite a short and odd story to make the paper. No quotes from the Brady Campaign? No response from a pro-gun Missouri group?
