LETTER: Congress has taken too long to pass health care reform

Congress has had the health care issue to work on for over a year now. There has been little to show for it. They need to get to work and pass meaningful health care legislation that stops the worst insurance company abuses.

Moreover, they must stop special interests from using health care legislation to take away abortion coverage that women have today. President Obama has promised that no one would lose coverage they already have. These special interests have also endeavored to shut down Planned Parenthood, which provides a significant amount of preventive medical care to thousands of women each day.

Let's remember that we're trying to get more people into the insurance pool. We are also aiming to encourage people to choose healthy lifestyle choices, including utilizing preventative screenings and preventative care.

Please don't listen to those special interests who would use gender discrimination to deny care to American women.
