MEXICO, Mo. — A status hearing for three members of an eastern Missouri family accused of killing an Ohio drifter has been postponed until April 14.
Associate Circuit Judge Linda Hamlett granted the continuance Wednesday. Audrain County Prosecutor Jacob Shallabarger has said the case is still being investigated.
KWWR-KXEO Radio reported that Angela Harvey and her stepson, Chad Harvey, made brief appearances but had no comment. Her husband, Chester "C.J." Harvey Jr., did not appear but was represented by his attorney.
The trio, plus two Harvey sons, ages 16 and 14, face first-degree murder charges in the death of 20-year-old James William Boyd McNeely. His body was found Dec. 22 in the refrigerated compartment of a rig parked in Vandalia in northeast Missouri.
Three others have been charged as accomplices in McNeely's kidnapping.
