COLUMBIA — Cotton balls were scattered in front of MU’s Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center early Friday. MU Police Capt. Brian Weimer said a witness saw two people running away from the center between 1:30 and 2 a.m.

MU Police are looking into the incident, and Weimer said it was too early to say whether it would be investigated as a hate crime.
