Currently Robin Carnahan is polling behind U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt in the race for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by our senior Sen. Kit Bond. Fundraising has been a challenge for her and now she faces a primary challenge from Francis Vangeli of Columbia. Carnahan's reaction: "Why me?"
Let me remind Ms. Carnahan that the election process is not about her; it is about Missouri families and voters seeking choice through the election process. Perhaps her views on the major issues of the day are suspect.
Ms. Carnahan supports higher taxation and the proposed cap and trade legislation. Both would be devastating for Missouri families and industry. Her support of the Democrats' health care takeover in Washington is also unwise, something that Americans or Missourians do not want. To rubber stamp Speaker Pelosi, Leader Harry Reid and the president’s proposals are unwise and not popular.
A spirited primary is healthy for the election process. Ms. Carnahan, the “Why me” comment is self-centered. Voters deserve better.
