COLUMBIA – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites the public to comment on a draft plan to improve the water quality of Hinkson Creek in Boone County through April 22.
Comments can be sent by mail to the Department of Natural Resources, Water Protection Program, Water Quality Monitoring and Assessment Section, P.O. Box 176, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0176.
They can also be sent by e-mail to john.hoke@dnr.mo.gov. E-mails should include contact information for the sender.
According to a release, the plan outlines pollutant reductions needed for the creek to meet water quality standards. Hinkson Creek was placed on Missouri’s 2004/2006 list of impaired waters.
The impaired portion of the creek begins south of I-70 and goes through Columbia to the stream’s confluence with Perche Creek.
