COLUMBIA — Convicted for a murder that happened 350 miles away, Joshua Kezer lost nearly 16 years of his life for a crime he didn't commit. CBS’s "48 Hours Mystery" is telling his story at 9 p.m. Saturday.
Kezer was accused of murdering 19-year-old Angela Mischelle Lawless — a woman he had never met — in 1994. Now 35, Kezer is a free man, and he's taking steps to help other wrongfully convicted people. He has worked with groups such as the Midwest Innocence Project and recently spoke at an event the project held at MU.
"There’s a story to be told," Kezer said. "It’s not easy for me to tell it. Sometimes I don’t want to tell it. Sometimes I’d rather just be left alone, but it needs to be told and I need to be one of the people telling it."
The show will air on KRCG Channel 13.

Judge Callahan stated "we now know everything Prosecutor Hulshof said in his closing was untrue"
Josh Kezer spent 16 years in prison while Mr.Hulshof spent 6 terms in Washington D.C. in the House of Representives.
This may be a hint why the Government in Washington D.C. has had so many problems over the years.
Kenny Hulshof took 16 years of Josh Kezer's life.
When interviewed last year about the exoneration Mr. Hulshof said he thought the jury got it right....
Is Mr. Hulshof dreaming?
Mr. Hulshof betrayed the public trust and should be charged for his criminal behavior and given a trial.
Besides bringing charges for his criminal behavior he needs to be put out of all government jobs plus lose his lawyer's licence. His total behavior in anything he does is criminal.I haven't had any dealings with the man but i spent over a hour talking to him at a democratic rally and that was enough.I still can't believe people would vote for him.He must have something over on somebody.
We have a "class" system in the USA. If I commit a crime, I could go to jail. Judges, lawyers, and etc. get special treatment. The Ferguson case is another example of unethical procedures, dishonestly, and etc by policemen, attorneys, and Judges. They have to be held responsible by removing them from their positions and put in jail.
I saw this program and it was sooo good to see justice!!! I
want to write to Sheriff Rick Walter and tell him how great
he is!!! I know what it means to be wrongly accused.
My name is Kerry Craig Walker and on September 16, 2001 I was the victim of a violent crime by an unbalanced female (a violent beating) and then attacked again in my own home—then I was falsely arrested as the perpetrator.
I was arrested and charged with simple assault, simple battery, and obstruction of a 911 call—All crimes that I did not commit and that were in fact committed against me! What is even more bizarre is that I filed an Incident Report the same day of the incident and the false accuser did not file an Incident Report until four days later. Then because Detective Preston Peavy ignored the only witness at the scene and then went on to ignore, alter, and tamper with virtually every piece of exculpatory evidence, my false charge of misdemeanor simple assault was upgraded to felony aggravated assault by a Grand Jury who was presented nothing but tainted evidence by this crooked cop!
This nightmare of injustice (Case No. 02CR1029) went on for over four years and finally on November 23, 2005 all of my charges were formally dismissed by the state of Georgia by the Honorable Judge Jackson Harris.
I am now the Plaintiff in a lawsuit that is currently pending because of this case. search: Kerry Walker Story
