LETTER: Republicans to blame for deficit

Mr. Blaine Leutkemeyer recently mailed a flier to me decrying the budget deficit. I returned the flier to him, with the following statement: "Bill Clinton and the Democrats left you Republicans with a budget surplus. What did you do with it?" In the area asking for my top priorities and issues I wrote: "Replace you with a Democrat."

Democrats, and other reasonable, rational people, I urge you to speak out against Mr. Leutkemeyer's plans, which would plunge us back into the same kind of recession/depression they so recently gave us. The USA does not need any more mismanagement by Republicans. We barely escaped intact from this most recent small government/low taxes/no regulation debacle. We don't need them to return to power and wreck things once again.

Please make your voices heard to Mr. Leutkemeyer and to our local papers and radio and TV stations.
