COLUMBIA — Daylight saving time begins this Sunday at 2 a.m. Clocks should be set an hour ahead to accommodate longer sunlight hours.
Fire departments across the country also suggest using the switch to daylight saving time as a reminder to replace batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
Daylight saving time begins the second Sunday in March and ends the first Sunday in November.
