COLUMBIA — The Central Missouri Humane Society has pushed back the date that it will begin longer hours.
It will be open six days a week starting April 5, said society Executive Director Alan Allert at a meeting Tuesday night. The board had originally planned to begin the new hours on March 16.
Starting April 5, the new hours are:
- Monday and Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday noon to 5 p.m.
- Wednesday, noon to 9 p.m.
Currently, the society is closed Tuesday and Wednesday, although they still take in pets then. Allert said that’s a problem because the society can’t adopt out any animals those days.
