WARRENSBURG — Departing University of Central Missouri President Aaron Podolefsky appears to have found a new job leading Buffalo State College in New York.
State University of New York Chancellor Nancy Zimpher said she will recommend Podolefsky's appointment by the system's board of trustees at its Tuesday meeting. A SUNY news release called Podolefsky the "overwhelming choice" of a national presidential search.
Central Missouri's governing board voted late last year to not renew Podolefsky's expiring contract. Some of his supporters have suggested religious prejudice contributed to Podolefsky's ouster, which came after a local radio host made controversial comments about the removal of a Christmas tree from in front of the presidential home. Podolefsky is Jewish.
