KAHOKA — Seven people have been charged in the theft of pigs from a northeast Missouri hog confinement.
Clark County Sheriff Paul Gaudette said his department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated a tip this week from Pike Pig Systems in Pittsfield, Ill.
The theft from the Bluff Road Genetics confinement outside of Peaksville cost the business an estimated $16,000.
Those charged are 49-year-old Seth Shotts, 44-year-old Terri Annette Jones, 25-year-old Jerred McClain, 36-year-old Matthew White, 55-year-old David Dillard, all of Revere; and 31-year-old Robert Daugherty and 37-year-old Mara Daugherty, both of Farmington, Iowa.
All are being held at the Clark County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property and theft from an animal facility.
