COLUMBIA — The Burger King at 3400 Clark Lane was robbed at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the Columbia Police Department.
While two female employees were closing the restaurant, a suspect described as a black male between 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 6 inches with a slender build forced his way into the restaurant with an employee as she returned from taking out the trash, Public Information Officer Jessie Haden said.
Haden said the man was dressed in all black, wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants and tennis shoes.
The suspect ran away. A witness saw a man that matched the suspect's description get into the passenger side of a white newer model car, Haden said. Police don't know what kind of car it was. Police think the suspect was carrying a small black handgun. No injuries were reported and no shots were fired. Haden would not say how much money was taken.
There have been several robberies reported over the past three weeks and investigators are currently working to see if the incidents are related, Haden said.
