COLUMBIA — Mayor Darwin Hindman
submitted an official application to bring Google Fiber to Columbia on Friday, the deadline for submissions.

Hindman said Google's high-speed broadband service would be a step for Columbia toward becoming a high-tech city prepared for the future of communication.
“All of us here know Columbia is the perfect place to be
home for Google," Hindman said. "We will rise to the occasion and win the contest."
