Third Ward City Councilman increases role with National League of Cities

COLUMBIA — Columbia Third Ward City Councilman Karl Skala is now a member of the steering committee of the National League of Cities' University Communities Council.
Skala is one of two Midwestern representatives to the 27-member panel, according to a news release from the city of Columbia.

The University Communities Council is a volunteer group of elected officials from cities with universities or other institutions of higher education. Council members share information and encourage cooperation between colleges and local governments.
