LETTER: Voters had the right idea, not George Kennedy

George Kennedy, by repeating the diatribe that the more conservative, business-oriented, genuine and accomplished candidates only won because of money and the Chamber's endorsement, is an insult to the voters, to all with a brain and to himself.

Voters decided real people with real experience might need to lead right now; we've seen enough of the other not work. Ten years as the executive director of the sustainable do-nothing society does not make you qualified, it makes you a hazard.

A shrinking Columbia in both tax revenue and developmental size drastically lessens the need for more animal psychologists and academia that have never clocked time, made payroll or worked for a nongovernment entity. Whether Bill Watkins knows it or not, he's about to get to real work and be allowed to succeed.

Stop the whining and making excuses for the people's good judgment. It proves the voters were correct in their thinking.
