Senne's home run leads Missouri baseball to victory

The Missouri baseball team has figured out how to win on Sundays. Now, the Tigers have to figure out how to win the other games.

The Tigers avoided the series sweep with a 12-11 victory against No. 12 Oklahoma on Sunday in Norman, Okla. It's the third straight weekend since the opening of Big 12 Conference play, Missouri came into the series finale needing a win.

To earn the win, the Tigers (18-13, 3-6 Big 12) spoiled Oklahoma's lead. After the Sooners scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, Missouri turned the tables with an eight-run top of the fifth.

The score was tied at 11 after the sixth inning, but senior first baseman Aaron Senne continued to show why he’s the leader of this team. He hit his 10th home run of the season to break the tie and extended his career-best hitting streak to 16 games. His last six games have all been multi-hit games.

Relief pitcher Jeff Emens got the win with 4 2/3 innings in relief. It was the second time this season that Missouri’s closer went at least four innings in order to pick up a win.
