COLUMBIA — Three men from Jefferson City, Jamaal C. Bates, 24, Khristopher E. Bell, 26, and Santana J. Green, 30, were each charged this morning on two counts of kidnapping two Columbia women in a Sunday night incident, Columbia Police Public Information Officer Jessie Haden said.
The men called one of the women to ask her to buy marijuana for them, Haden said; then they came to Columbia and gave her money to give to the seller.
Haden said the woman gave the men their marijuana, and they left, but after a short while they decided it was "fake marijuana." They went to find the women to get their money back.
Haden said the men found the women at a residence in the 3400 block of Westwind Drive, got the women into their car and then drove them to the parking lot of the Walmart on Conley Road.
Columbia police received information about the incident a little after 1 a.m. Monday and went to the Walmart parking lot, where the men released the women, Haden said.
Haden said there was report of a gun, but no gun was found after a police search.

I can't tell if this story is written badly or if the events were just that confusing.
It sounds like some guys wanted pot so they naturally called up some women in Columbia to have them buy it for them. The men went to pick it up but found thought it was fake so they picked the women up and took them to Wal-Mart? Weird.
