Missouri gymnast Shire finishes second on floor at nationals

Sarah Shire came close to a national title.

The four-time All-American competed in the event finals on vault and floor at the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships on Saturday in Gainesville, Fla. She finished tied for second on floor and fifth on vault.

Shire scored a 9.900 on floor and averaged a 9.8188 with the two vaults.

Brittani McCullough of UCLA won the floor crown with a 9.9375. Vanessa Zamarripa of UCLA won the vault title, averaging a 9.925.
